Talks At The Fair

One of the attractions at the HDFHS Annual Fair is the selection of interesting talks. The subjects are drawn from family history and historical topics, the latter providing insights into the life and times of the ancestors that we work to identify, putting flesh on to the bones.

In 2024 these were the speakers and talks who entertained us.  This information will be updated from summer 2025 with speaker information for our Fair on Saturday 25 October 2025.

‘Fighting the Flames – A History of Huddersfield Fire Brigades’ will be presented by Chris Smith – start time 10.30 am

‘King George V and Queen Mary’s Visit to the West Riding’ will be presented by Christine Leveridge – start time 12 noon

‘From Hanging Heaton to New York’ will be presented by Jim Halstead – start time 1.30 pm
