Talks At The Fair

One of the attractions at the HDFHS Annual Fair is the selection of interesting talks. The subjects are drawn from family history and historical topics, the latter providing insights into the life and times of the ancestors that we work to identify, putting flesh on to the bones.

This year there will be three speakers to entertain you. Tickets, up to the seating capacity of the room, will be available upon your entry to the Fair and are included in the entrance fee. The topics and presenters are shown below.  When you arrive at the Fair Reception Desk, just ask for a ticket to the talk(s) of interest to you.

‘Fighting the Flames – A History of Huddersfield Fire Brigades’ will be presented by Chris Smith – start time 10.30 am

‘King George V and Queen Mary’s Visit to the West Riding’ will be presented by Christine Leveridge – start time 12 noon

‘From Hanging Heaton to New York’ will be presented by Jim Halstead – start time 1.30 pm
