Talks At The Fair

One of the attractions at our Annual Family and Local History Fair is the selection of interesting talks. The subjects are drawn from family history and historical topics, the latter providing insights into the life and times of the ancestors that we work to identify, putting flesh on to the bones.

In 2026 we are welcoming three popular speakers, these are the details:

Keith Robinson – ‘Lockwood Mill Workers’ – 10.30 am

Christine Leveridge – ‘The Yorkshire Coalfield’. Christine will give an illustrated talk on Pits and Mining Communities around West and South Yorkshire – 12 noon

Chris Smith – ‘A walk around Huddersfield in Old Postcards – Part 2‘. Chris returns again to give a follow on illustrated talk on many interesting locations and events through his old postcard collection – 1.30 pm

Tickets will be available upon entry to the event.
