‘Hartshead, a West Riding Village’

February 10, 2026 at 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

An online presentation by Margot Atherton.

For more than 900 years Hartshead village life has centred on the church of St. Peter’s and it’s the history of the church and the many links it has with her ancestors that Margot will explore.  This will include the church’s association with the Brontë family, the historical importance of the Anglo-Saxon Walton Cross, the Sepulchre quaker burial ground and the history surrounding Roe Head and Kirklees Hall.
The Society is proud to cover some of the area that formed part of the Bronte family’s lives.
This talk is for Members Only.
