Stuart Hartley is a qualified architect from Dewsbury, now based in Thornhill. After graduating from the Huddersfield School of Architecture, he worked for local authorities before starting his practice and lecturing at the University of Huddersfield. He recruited international students for 15 years and retired in 2010, continuing private work until 2020. Since 1990, he has given talks on architecture and social history, expanding his topics and incorporating multimedia. Recent presentations cover Yorkshire’s history and music, and news from the 1950s and 1960s.
