Talks At The Fair
One of the attractions at our Annual Family and Local History Fair is the selection of interesting talks. The subjects are drawn from family history and historical topics, the latter providing insights into the life and times of the ancestors that we work to identify, putting flesh on to the bones.
In 2025 we are welcoming three very popular speakers, these are the details:
Ian Stevenson – ‘How to research your house’s history’. Ian will describe some of the interesting house history projects he has been involved in for the Society over the last few years and will give hints and tips on how to research your own house history – 10.30 am
Christine Leveridge – ‘Yorkshire Folk on holiday in the early 20th century’. Christine will give an illustrated talk about how our recent ancestors took their holidays – 12 noon
Chris Smith – ‘A walk around Huddersfield in Old Postcards’. Chris returns in person this year to give an illustrated talk on many interesting locations and events through his old postcard collection – 1.30 pm
